PENERAPAN KURIKULUM BERBASIS CINTA PADA MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI MIN 12 BANJAR KABUPATEN BANJAR

Abstract

Educational approaches that emphasize cognitive aspects alone are considered insufficient to fully shape students’ character. In the context of Islamic education, strengthening the affective dimension has become an urgent necessity, particularly in instilling Islamic values that are humanistic and transformative. This article aims to describe and analyze the implementation of a love-based curriculum in the subject of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) at MIN 12 Banjar, Banjar Regency. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers and the school principal, and analysis of curriculum documents and instructional materials. The findings indicate that the love-based curriculum is implemented through the integration of values such as compassion, empathy, tolerance, and role modeling in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of PAI learning. This approach fosters a humanistic, dialogical, and character-oriented learning climate. The love-based curriculum has proven effective in increasing students’ emotional engagement, strengthening the internalization of Islamic values, and building positive relationships between teachers and students. Therefore, a love-based curriculum can serve as a strategic alternative for the development of Islamic Religious Education learning in madrasahs.
