IMPLEMENTASI NILAI-NILAI ISLAM DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI PERGURUAN TINGGI

Abstract

The modern digital era requires higher education institutions to optimize the role of Islamic Education (PAI) in shaping students’ character based on Islamic values. The implementation of Islamic values is a fundamental aspect of PAI instruction so that students not only acquire cognitive knowledge but also internalize moral, spiritual, and social values in their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic values in PAI learning in higher education, with emphasis on forms of application, learning strategies, and challenges encountered. This research employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of scholarly works related to Islamic values, PAI learning, and higher education. The findings indicate that Islamic values can be implemented through integration of faith (‘aqīdah), worship (‘ibādah), and morality (akhlāq) within the curriculum; learning strategies based on exemplary conduct and habituation; as well as the positive utilization of digital technology. This implementation contributes to strengthening religious moderation, enhancing religious literacy, and shaping students with noble character. However, challenges arise due to the diversity of student backgrounds, declining religious interest, and the influence of pragmatic digital culture. Therefore, innovative and collaborative pedagogical strategies are required to optimize the implementation of Islamic values in PAI learning.
