MEMBANGUN KARAKTER BANGSA MELALUI NILAI KEAGAMAAN

The formation of national character is one of the main pillars of national development. Amid the currents of globalization and rapid technological advancement, moral degradation has become a serious challenge for Indonesia’s young generation. Religious values play a strategic role in instilling moral, spiritual, and social ethics that serve as the foundation of the nation’s character. This article aims to describe the importance of religious values in shaping a nation of noble character, integrity, and responsibility. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive with a literature study approach, drawing on sources from the Qur’an, Hadith, and scientific literature on character education and religious values. The findings show that religious values serve as the primary source of character formation, encompassing honesty, responsibility, hard work, tolerance, and justice. By strengthening these values through education, family, and community, a strong and moral national character can be realized as the foundation of a civilized and just Indonesian society.
