This article aims to examine the transformation of communication and language in the digital era by highlighting the characteristics of digital communication, changes in language use, and the challenges and implications for social life, education, and democracy. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing theories of communication, linguistics, and digital media from various scholarly sources. The findings indicate that the digital era encourages the emergence of more concise, multimodal, and contextual forms of language, while simultaneously presenting challenges such as the degradation of communication ethics, the spread of disinformation, and the polarization of public discourse.
