Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) play a strategic role in supporting economic growth and sustainability amid globalization, digital transformation, and the development of a knowledge-based economy. Intellectual creations are no longer viewed merely as creative products but as valuable economic assets that contribute significantly to individual and societal welfare. This study aims to analyze the role of IPR as a means of economic sustainability and its relevance to the principles of justice and public benefit, particularly from the perspective of Islamic law. The research employs a library research method by examining academic literature, legal regulations, and Islamic scholars’ perspectives on intellectual property. The findings indicate that effective IPR protection encourages innovation, creativity, investment, and long-term economic competitiveness. Furthermore, from the perspective of Islamic law, intellectual property is regarded as wealth (māl) that deserves legal protection based on the principles of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, especially hifẓ al-māl (protection of property). The views of scholars and the fatwa issued by the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) affirm that IPR protection aligns with justice and public welfare and does not contradict Islamic principles. Therefore, strengthening the IPR protection system is essential for achieving sustainable and equitable economic development
