HUBUNGAN PENGARUH HAMBATAN BAHASA TERHADAP PELAYANAN KESEHATAN PADA MASYARAKAT

Language or communication barriers commonly occur between patients and healthcare providers who have different native languages. Such barriers can negatively affect medical care as well as the continuity of relationships between patients, healthcare professionals, and health facilities. This study aims to analyze the impact of language barriers on healthcare services within the community. A mixed-methods approach was employed to evaluate the influence of using the Indonesian language in health education by combining qualitative and quantitative methods. Data were collected through observations and questionnaires to examine the extent to which the community understands the importance of using Indonesian in delivering health information in order to minimize language barriers. The findings indicate that the use of the Indonesian language in health education significantly enhances public understanding, access, and participation in maintaining health. This, in turn, has a positive effect on shaping healthier community attitudes. However, careful and precise message delivery remains essential to prevent misinterpretation of health information by the public.
