LITERASI BAHASA DAN SASTRA INDONESIA SEBAGAI PRAKSIS BUDAYA: DARI PEMAKNAAN TEKS MENUJU TRANSFORMASI SOSIAL
Keywords:
Indonesian language and literature literacy, cultural praxis, social transformationAbstract
This study aims to examine Indonesian language and literature literacy as a cultural praxis oriented toward social transformation. Employing a qualitative approach with a library research method, the study explores concepts, values, and literacy practices within Indonesia’s socio-cultural context. The findings indicate that language and literature literacy functions not merely as a technical skill of reading and writing, but as a dialogical space for the formation of consciousness, identity, and cultural action. Language and literature serve as media for the transmission of values, character development, and the articulation of historical and social experiences. Reflective and critical literacy enables readers to transform textual meanings into concrete social actions. Through the synergy of education, literacy communities, and contextualized policies, Indonesian language and literature literacy holds significant potential as an emancipatory force in fostering an inclusive and competitive national civilization.
